Nintendo were the first to introduce a motion controller way back in 2006. It was not doubt a trail blazer for years creating a niche of its own and winning over millions of fans. However this is no longer the case as this distinction has been erased by PlayStation and Microsoft releasing their own versions of a motion controller called the "Move" and "Kinect" respectively.
With the battle for supremacy raging between PlayStation and Microsoft I compare the PS3 move against the Kinect highlighting the differences between PS3 Move and Kinect.
Kinect is unique in its ability to picks up your body movement without a need to physically hold a controller. The Kinect consists of a webcam like camera (the Kinect Sensor) which has the ability to capture 3D movements, as well as facial and audio recognitions. Players interact with their console through a combination of well crafted User Interface and spoken commands. While a hands free motion controller is appealing to someone like me, other gamers will probably prefer a closer interaction with their gameplay which is where the Move excels.
The Move bears a similar resemblance to the Wii controller but differs in its capabilities (especially in the ability to track 3D movements). The Move consists of a motion controller wand and the PlayStation Eye camera used for tracking both the position and motion of the wand. Distance from Camera: If you are thinking of buying the Kinect you must bear in mind that you need to be at least six feet from the Sensor for proper interaction (this is more of a challenge in the UK bearing in mind the way most homes are designed).
The PS3 Move is however less demanding as you must be at least three feet aways from the PlayStation Eye Camera. You need to also ensure that the distance between you and the motion controller is cleared of debris and objects to avoid running into them during gameplay. To optimise audio level when configuring the Kinect ensure the sensor is at least 1 foot from any sound sources.
Where to place the Camera: Both motion controllers can be placed on top or below your TV. However the Kinect require more space than PS3 Move. You will need to ensure that your play area is well lit from behind the motion controller and not in the front because the controllers don't react well to sunlight. In some cases you might need to buy a vertical stand.
Ease of Use: You will find the Kinect more easy to use after set up. The User Interface is well designed that any casual gamer can hit the ground running but learning how to use the PS3 Move controller buttons can be intimidating to any new comer. On the other hand the PS3 Move is more responsive to your movements than the Kinect.
Price Comparison: The Kinect is more expensive than the Move controller but can support two players. You will need to buy a second pair of controllers for the second player on PlayStation.

Kinect is unique in its ability to picks up your body movement without a need to physically hold a controller. Distance from Camera: If you are thinking of buying the Kinect you must bear in mind that you need to be at least six feet from the Sensor for proper interaction (this is more of a challenge in the UK bearing in mind the way most homes are designed).
The PS3 Move is however less demanding as you must be at least three feet aways from the PlayStation Eye Camera. You need to also ensure that the distance between you and the motion controller is cleared of debris and objects to avoid running into them during gameplay. To optimise audio level when configuring the Kinect ensure the sensor is at least 1 foot from any sound sources.
Where to place the Camera: Both motion controllers can be placed on top or below your TV. However the Kinect require more space than PS3 Move. You will need to ensure that your play area is well lit from behind the motion controller and not in the front because the controllers don't react well to sunlight. In some cases you might need to buy a vertical stand.
Ease of Use: You will find the Kinect more easy to use after set up. The User Interface is well designed that any casual gamer can hit the ground running but learning how to use the PS3 Move controller buttons can be intimidating to any new comer. On the other hand the PS3 Move is more responsive to your movements than the Kinect.
Price Comparison: The Kinect is more expensive than the Move controller but can support two players. You will need to buy a second pair of controllers for the second player on PlayStation.
Games: There are not many PS3 and Xbox 360 games taking full advantage of these technology at the moment. However considering the fact that they are relatively new you can be sure that things will soon change.

Your PS3 Shut Off and You Keep Getting A Blinking Red Light - What To Do To Fix This Mess
So your PS3 shut off and you are seeing a blinking red light? You've been cursed with the red kiss of death, right? Your whole world is suddenly crashing down on you because you can't play Killzone 3 and its driving you crazy. Well before you take a baseball bat to your PS3, here are a few things you can try to solve the fact that your PS3 shut off and you are seeing a blinking red light.
1. First off, make sure your PS3 system is off. Now let it cool down for about 20 minutes or so. After the cool down, set it up in a more ventilated place and put it on a flat surface. If it was on the carpet, don't have it there anymore because carpets can block the vents on the unit and trap the heat, making it more likely to overheat.
2. Examine your system for dust in the vents. Airflow can become obstructed by dust and this can make the PS3 have to work harder to cool down properly, causing the PS3 the shut off and the blinking red lights. The Wii Remote is what makes the Wii "the Wii". Its ability to respond to movement is the major reason for the Wii's popularity. We all get some sort of feeling of satisfaction when we make a movement with the remote and see a character respond to the movement- whether it be swinging a sword or tennis racket etc. So when the Wii remote stops working the lifeblood of the Wii is dead. So it is absolutely crucial that you carry out Wii remote troubleshooting to get the remote back in working order. Below are some tips to do just that.
Check the sensor bar to see if it is positioned correctly. It should not be behind the television, but should sit on level with the television. This is to ensure that it receives the correct information from the Wii remote as you use it. If it is not place correctly, the Wii may misinterpret the information sent from the remote to the sensor bar.
Check to see that there are no obstructions between the Wii sensor bar and the remote as these can block signals going from the remote to the sensor bar. If possible, move any ornaments or any other object between you and the sensor bar, so that there are no obstructions which can block the signal.
Turn the Wii on and press a button on the Wii remote. If the lights on the remote flash, then go out the remote may not be synced with the console. This commonly occurs with a new remote that did not come with the console. To get your console to recognize the remote, sync the remote with the with the Wii (the instructions to do this are in your Wii Operations Manual).
* If the Wii remote still does not work properly, try changing the batteries in it. If you use the Wii a lot, the batteries can discharge very quickly.

1) The Wii not places in a well-ventilated area
2) Dust buildup inside the Wii
